Sewing Circle

WORSHIP SERVICES AVAILABLE ONLINE

Grace’s Sewing Circle meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays each month from 9:00 AM-noon to lovingly craft quilts for Lutheran World Relief for disbursement to refugees and people in need around the world.  We also create lap quilts, crocheted blankets, walker & wheelie bags, cell phone bags, poly bags & small pillows which are donated to 10 local nursing homes in McHenry County to provide warmth and comfort to local residents. Each year these ladies make hundreds of items that are donated locally and around the world.

Most materials are donated by our Grace members and are always welcome. Materials needed are sheets, fabric, pillow stuffing, lightweight blankets, yarn (both for tying and for crochet blankets), and quilt batting. We welcome new members to join us at church to tie or sew & assemble quilts, or to work on projects at home. Quilt kits with instructions are available for anyone who wants to sew quilt tops at home. Lap quilts for local nursing homes are 40”x60” for any who want to make their own at home, either quilted or crochet/knitted. For more information on our Sewing Circle or to donate materials, contact Tammy Hansing or the church office at 815/338-0554.
